This update outlines the progress made on the community priorities set for your area by the Local Policing Inspector Craig, in collaboration with the Safer Neighbourhood Supervisors- Sgt Adams and PCSO Supervisor Wallington-Waite. Community priorities are reviewed and set on a quarterly basis, guiding the focus of the Safer Neighbourhood Team’s activity, in this update, you’ll find: A summary of the previous priorities The actions taken and outcomes achieved The new priorities for the upcoming quarterNew priorities are determined by analysing local crime trends and incorporating feedback from you, the community, through engagement events, surveys and direct contact. The previous priorities were: Road Safety including anti-social vehicle useSerious Acquisitive CrimeAction Taken: In relation to Road Safety including anti-social vehicle use we have the following updates: - Our Casualty reduction enforcement support team (CREST) have attended and completed speed checks in Egginton,A male was stopped by Police after making off from officers on a motorbike- he has been reported to court for traffic offences,A notice of intended prosecution (NOIP) has been sent to the driver of a vehicle contravening a red light in HattonA NOIP was sent to the driver of a vehicle driving dangerously on Egginton road HiltonA male has been charged with driving over the legal drink drive limit near to BurnastonAn off-road bike seized of a youth after being seen riding it in Etwall and Mickleover. The rider is completing ongoing work with the youth offending team because of their actionsA male was arrested for driving over the legal drink drive limit following a road traffic collision (RTC) on Main Street Hilton,A female has been charged with driving over the legal drink drive limit following an RTC on Egginton rd. EtwallA Traffic offence report has been issued to a driver caught speeding Egginton rd. EtwallA Female has been charged with driving over the legal drink drive limit following a collision on the Mease. A Community Speed Watch scheme has been set up in Egginton and supported by the team.In relation to Serious Acquisitive Crime, we have the following updates: - We have conducted high visibility and plain clothes patrols in hotspot areas throughout our shifts along with our local policing unit patrolling throughout night shifts, We have shared crime prevention advice regularly through social media, at community events and via Derbyshire Alert, raising awareness of current issues and advising on security measures to help prevent thefts Held crime prevention events across the area including Tool and van security eventsA Male was arrested for burglary and driving offences in Burnaston- investigation is on goingNew priorities: Following this review, the SNT has identified the following priorities for the upcoming quarter: 1.Tackle Antisocial behaviour (ASB) from vehicles – especially in the Hackwood estate, Mickleover 2.Serious Acquisitive Crime 3.Encouraging and educating on Crime Prevention relevant to the area In relation to Tackling ASB from vehicles we will: Conduct regular high visibility and plains clothes patrols in known hotspot areas.Promote road safety awareness through school visits and youth engagement sessions.Take proactive enforcement action against offences relating to anti-social driving Work with our Roads Policing Unit for joint operations where necessaryCollaborate with local councils to identify infrastructure improvements (signage, traffic calming). Share updates and crime prevention advice via Derbyshire Alert and social mediaPublicise successful interventions to reassure the community and encourage reporting.In relation to Serious Acquisitive Crime, we will: Continue high visibility and plain clothes patrols in hotspot areas. Share crime prevention advice through social media, community events and Derbyshire Alert, raising awareness of current issues. Promote security measures such as tool marking, steering locks and CCTV. Work with partners including local authorities, bordering police forces and national policing teams to share intelligence and prevent offending.In relation to Encouraging and educating on Crime Prevention relevant to the area we will: Send out fortnightly messages around Crime prevention, monitoring reports made to Police and partners to identifying any crime trends and tailor our advice to these.Promote security measures such as tool marking, steering locks and CCTV. Publicise successful interventions to reassure the community and encourage reporting.Liaise/ work with our Rural crime team around crime prevention advise for the rural communityHold crime prevention events throughout the area. |
